Before and AfterCare
At Pokz Hair Studios, we want you to get the most out of your hair unit and services. Follow these care instructions to ensure your unit looks flawless and lasts as long as possible.
Before Your Appointment
1. Preparation for Installation or Maintenance:
• If you’re coming in for a new unit installation, ensure your scalp is clean and free of oil, residue, or buildup. Avoid heavy creams or oils on your scalp 24 hours before your appointment.
• If you’re coming for maintenance or reapplication, you can wear your unit to the appointment. We’ll handle cleaning and refreshing the unit for you.
2. For Wash and Clean Services:
• If bringing in your unit separately, ensure it’s safely stored or packaged to avoid tangling or damage before your appointment.
• If you’re wearing your unit, don’t worry—we’ll take care of carefully removing it for washing.
3. General Tips:
• Bring any specific products you’ve been using on your unit if you’d like recommendations on alternatives or better options.
• If your hair or scalp is irritated, let us know ahead of time so we can tailor our services to your needs.
After Your Appointment
For Hair Unit Installation and Maintenance
1. Scalp and Unit Care:
• Avoid washing your hair or getting your unit wet for 48 hours to allow adhesives to fully set.
• Use a satin or silk scarf or pillowcase to protect your unit and prevent friction while sleeping.
• Avoid excessive sweating or water exposure (e.g., swimming or long showers) for the first 48 hours.
2. Styling and Products:
• Use lightweight, non-greasy products to style your unit. Avoid heavy oils or alcohol-based products, which can weaken adhesives or damage the unit.
• Avoid excessive heat styling, and always use a heat protectant when using hot tools.
3. Maintenance Schedule:
• Schedule maintenance every 4–6 weeks to keep your unit secure, clean, and fresh.
• For daily wearers, clean your unit regularly with professional services to maintain its quality.
For Wash and Clean Services:
1. Post-Cleaning Care:
• If we reinstalled your unit after washing, follow the same aftercare for installations above.
• For separate units, handle them with care after cleaning. Store them on a wig stand or in a protective bag to maintain their shape.
2. Between Washes:
• Keep your unit free of heavy product buildup. Use gentle detangling tools and avoid over-styling to preserve the hair fibers.
General Tips for Longevity
• Daily Maintenance: Gently brush or comb your unit to prevent tangling, starting from the ends and working upward.
• Avoid Overwashing: Limit washing your unit to once every 1–2 weeks or as recommended by your stylist.
• Professional Maintenance: Always trust professionals for deep cleaning, adhesive reapplications, or repairs to avoid accidental damage.
